Carteret County Information Technology (IT) Department serves as an internal service department providing direct support to County staff which in turn serves the citizens of the County. We also directly support the public in the areas of GIS and Mapping services, Website and Social Media services, and other public related information delivery.
The IT Department runs a centralized helpdesk (link only works inside County network) for all County IT related issues and needs to ensure the fastest service possible with the appropriate resources available. We also support 24x7 emergency operations such as 911 communications, public safety communications, and other critical services.
The IT Department works on numerous projects throughout each fiscal year servicing various departments' needs as well as the County as a whole. We are responsible for the County's technical infrastructure from the network and communications all the way down to a user's desktop.
