CARTERET COUNTY AREA TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM
Carteret County Area Transportation System (CCATS) is an accessible public transportation service for all residents and guests of Carteret County. It is authorized by the Board of Commissioners of Carteret County.
CCATS is your transportation system and is here to serve the transportation needs of all citizens of the county. Whether it’s shopping, socializing, getting to work or medical appointments, we’re here to help.
CCATS has wheelchair-accessible, as well as, environmentally friendly propane-converted vehicles.
Carteret County Area Transportation System is operated and funded by Carteret County, the North Carolina Department of Transportation, and the Federal Transportation Administration, along with revenues and contributions collected by the system. The cost of a trip is based on your location and destination. CCATS is available to all citizens and guests of Carteret County.

CCATS SERVICES
Demand Response Transportation operates Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Take employees to and from work
- Shopping trips for residents and guests
- Service to and from all areas of Carteret County
- Carteret Community College
- Non-emergency medical transportation
- Beaches, museums, parks, aquariums and other points of interest
Limited out-of-county express service for non-emergency medical appointments.
