Carteret County Crime Stoppers is a separate corporation acting in conjunction with Carteret County Sheriff’s Office and other law enforcement agencies in Carteret County affording the general public the opportunity to get involved in reporting crimes for which the public can be offered rewards and anonymity in making a report of unsolved crimes, wanted persons, and the recovery of stolen property. The specific purpose of this organization is to reduce crime in the community and to establish better relationship between the public and law enforcement agencies.
Carteret County Crime Stoppers is exempt from Federal Income Tax under Internal Revenue Code Section 501 C3 and qualifies to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts under section 2055, 2106, or 2522 and is granted exemption with the State of North Carolina Department of the Secretary of State Charitable Solicitations Licensing Division. N.C. Gen. Stat. 131F-1 et seq.
