Carteret County Board of Elections to host voter outreach event at Leon Mann, Jr. Enrichment Center

News Releases Posted on October 10, 2024

CARTERET COUNTY, N.C. (October 10, 2024) – The Carteret County Board of Elections will be hosting a special outreach event to help residents aged 50 and older. This event will focus on helping them understand their voting options, assist with voter registration, and provide support to those needing to obtain a photo ID for voting, including information on the Board of Elections Mobile ID Program. The event will be held on Friday, Oct. 11, at 9 a.m. at the Leon Mann, Jr. Enrichment Center in Morehead City.

“Voting can be overwhelming at times with the various methods available, eligibility requirements, and different timeframes for casting ballots,” said Board of Elections Director Caitlin Sabadish. “We aim to simplify the process by providing the public with clear information on their voting options, ensuring that they are fully informed, registered, and ready to have their voices heard in the upcoming election.”

The event will provide comprehensive information about polling locations, voter registration, absentee ballots, and early voting. Attendees will receive assistance with any necessary paperwork and help with determining eligibility for a North Carolina Voter Photo ID. The Board of Elections Mobile ID Program will be on-site to assist eligible residents with obtaining their ID the same day. Special attention will be given to voters over the age of 65, as they are allowed to use an expired photo ID if it was valid when they turned 65.
