CARTERET COUNTY, N.C. (March 16, 2026) – Due to the potential for forecasted severe storms, all Carteret County government facilities and offices will close at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 16. The Carteret County Board of Commissioners regular March meeting, originally scheduled for 6 p.m., is canceled.

Essential public safety services, including the Sheriff’s Office and Emergency Services, will continue to operate without interruption. All other County offices and services will close to the public starting at 2 p.m. Monday.
