Mission Statement

The mission of the Carteret County Board of Commissioners is to enhance the future, health, safety, and quality of life in our County by ensuring the delivery of superior services to all residents through courteous customer services, provided in a cost-effective and compassionate manner.

Meetings

The Board of County Commissioners generally meets on the third Monday of every month unless otherwise noted. The Board may hold a Special Called or Emergency meetings to conduct business outside of the normal regular schedule. These meetings are advertised in accordance with open meetings rules. Please check the calendar regularly for updates to the meeting schedule.

Members

The Board of Commissioners consists of seven members elected for staggered, four year terms. Each commissioner is elected countywide, but must reside within the boundaries of one of six districts. One commissioner is elected from each district, with the exception of District 3, which elects two members to the Board. View the district GIS app to find what district your address falls within.
