Aging Planning Board

The purpose of the Carteret County Aging and Planning Board is to promote and improve well-being of senior citizens in Carteret County, to make recommendations, advise and consult with the County Board of Commissioners and the County Manager on the funding and the development of facilities, services, and programs to enhance the quality of life for older adults, and; to coordinate/cooperate with other organizations and human service agencies to enrich the lives of all County seniors.

Member Specifications: 17 members with specific categories

• At-Large Representatives (6) - Seniors 60 years of age or older (4) Adults with interests or expertise in aging issues (2)
• Department of Social Services Representative
• Health Department Representative
• Parks & Recreation Representative
• Veterans Services Representative
• Coastal Community Action Representative
• Senior Services Department Representative
• Carteret County Area Transportation System (CCATS) Representative
• AARP Representative
• County Commissioner Representative
• Senior Tar Heel Legislature Delegate or alternate Representative
• Area Agency on Aging Representative, Ex-Officio member

Term: 3 year or continuously
Compensation: None
Meeting Date: Generally held on the third Wednesday of the second month of each quarter.
Meeting Time: 10:30 am 
Meeting Place: Location designated by Chairperson
