Applying for an Appointment

The Carteret County Board of Commissioners welcomes citizens’ willingness to participate in local governmental decisions. One way of participating is by serving as a citizen member of one of the county’s commissions, advisory boards, and committees listed below. 

If you wish to be considered for appointment to one of these boards, please complete the Board & Commission Application or the Adult Home & Nursing Home Board Application.

Please be aware that you must be a resident of Carteret County to be appointed. Appointments are made by the Carteret County Board of Commissioners during their regularly scheduled meetings. 

Online Applications

• If you wish to apply for either the Adult Home Community Advisory Board or the Nursing Home Advisory Board, you must fill out the  Adult Home & Nursing Home Board Application.   

Mail Applications

• Printable Board & Commission Application Print application, fill out entirely, and mail it to the County Manager’s Office Attn: Clerk to the Board at 302 Courthouse Square, Beaufort, NC 28516 or fax it to 252-728-2092 or deliver in person to 210 Turner Street, Beaufort, NC 28516.
