The Leon Mann Jr. Enrichment Center, nestled in the heart of Morehead City, has been a cornerstone of Carteret County's community for seniors since 1997. Our mission is to empower older adults to lead fulfilling, independent lives by providing a vibrant space for socialization, education, and wellness.
Since its inception, the Center has been dedicated to serving citizens aged 50 and older who reside independently or in supportive living arrangements. We offer a wide range of programs and services designed to promote physical and mental well-being, foster social connections, and enhance the overall quality of life.

In recognition of our dedication to providing exceptional services, the Leon Mann Jr. Enrichment Center was recertified as a North Carolina Senior Center of Excellence in June 2025. This prestigious honor reflects our commitment to excellence and our unwavering focus on the needs of our community.
Mission
To enhance the quality of life for older adults in Carteret County by providing services, programs, and activities that will maintain or improve their level of independence, encourage personal growth and development, promote community participation, and address current and future needs. Special emphasis is placed on serving the socially and economically disadvantaged, low-income minorities, and the frail elderly.
