Electronic Monitoring Program

At the direction of the 3rd Judicial District Court of North Carolina, the Jail provides electronic monitoring as an alternative to incarceration.

This program allows offenders to maintain employment and and diverts them from jail time to in-home detention, which reduces jail over-crowding.

The Electronic Monitoring Program Coordinator is able to monitor the offender's location in real-time by using a Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) technology. Data is transmitted through a cellular network 24 hours a day / 7 days a week.

Offenders pay a daily cost of $8 and the fee must be paid for the entire sentence prior to beginning the program.
