CARTERET COUNTY, N.C. (February 4, 2026) – Due to continued impacts from the recent winter storm, including the potential for a wintry mix and overnight refreezing, most Carteret County Government offices and facilities will open at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 5.
- The Leon Mann Jr. Enrichment Senior Center will open at 10 a.m.
- CCATS public transportation will operate beginning at 10 a.m.
- County libraries will open at 10 a.m. and close at 5:30 p.m.
- The Carteret County Courthouse will open at 10 a.m. Residents with questions about the court calendar may visit https://www.nccourts.gov/court-dates or contact the Clerk of Superior Court at 252-504-4400.
- County convenience sites will open at 9 a.m., a two-hour delay from their normal 7 a.m. opening.
Michael J. Smith Airport (MRH) remains closed through noon on Friday, February 6, due to snow and ice on runways and taxiways. Updates will be provided as conditions change.
